Featured Pets

Sometimes there is a pet whose face or story just touches your heart.

Special Dogs at OSCAR Animal Rescue

Our featured dogs and cats are often with O.S.C.A.R. longer than other pets. Sometimes they have special needs and other times it just takes longer to find them the right family. So, it often costs more for their care.

Here are some deserving pets who really need forever families.
Can you open your home to one of them?

If you are not in the position to adopt a pet of your own right now, why not consider SPONSORING a dog or cat? Occasionally, we have pets with special needs who require extra vet care, medications, and special food. Your SPONSORSHIP will help us give them all the special care they need as they wait for their forever family.

Please type 'Sponsor' in the Special Instructions box. Thank you!.

Meet Captain!

Breed: German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever Mix
Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - with Black
Age: Young
Size: Med. 26-60 lbs
Sex: Male - neutered
Up-to-date with shots

Captain has the most expressive eyes that look at you begging for love. He is housebroken and knows basic commands. This handsome fellow likes to be left alone while he enjoys his meals but otherwise he is a playful dog who loves his toys. He loves squeaky toys and can't enough of them. Captain can be picky about his dog friends and would probably do best as an only dog and in a home with older children. This Shepherd mix boy is about 2-3 years old and 45 pounds.

Please help Captain find the loving home he deserves.

Size: (when grown) Large Weight: 61-100 lbs
Sex: Female - spayed

People friendly, but not good with cats or other dogs.

Matilda and her puppies were dumped at a shelter. She was also found to be heartworm+ at the time. Matilda has completed heartworm treatment and is feeling great. She has an adorable underbite that gives her face such character. She is people friendly, sweet & loving, enjoys playing ball & romping in the yard and snuggling too. Sometimes she can be strong on a leash when she is determined to go somewhere. Matilda can also be picky about her doggie friends and is not a fan of cats so an only pet home would suit her best. Matilda is 4 years old and 68 pounds.

Please help Matilda find the loving home she deserves.
